NOTHING STOPS NOAH

Guardian Angel Publishing announces the release of NOTHING STOPS NOAH, a picture book for ages 4 to 8 years old.

Noah needs money for something special, but who would hire a boy so young? Nothing stops Noah and he finds just the right job in Grandpa's pet shop. When Grandpa has to leave the shop chaos breaks out and Noah has to find a way to get all of the animals back in their cages before Grandpa returns. Will Noah earn the money he needs? What does he want it for?

This delightful book is the work of author, Shari Lyle-Soffe. Shari also wrote the popular picture/storybook series about raccoon brothers titled,
THE MISADVENTURES OF ROOTER AND SNUFFLE, ON THE GO WITH ROOTER AND SNUFFLE and TROUBLE FINDS ROOTER AND SNUFFLE.

The colorful, funny illustrations are the work of Kevin Scott Collier. Kevin has illustrated more than 100 children's books and will soon have his own television show, Drawing for KICKS, where he teaches children to draw.

This charming, fun book is available in paperback and also in electronic formats.

The Magic Violin garners another great review!

Hi all,

The Magic Violin has garnered yet another rave review, this time by the popular Stories for Children Magazine.

"Mayra makes this storyline and its backdrop magical, with just the right hint of mystery to it. Her characters' "voice" comes through loud and clear. Accompanied by the crisp, detailed, and lifelike illustrations of K.C. Snider, this book is a "keeper". This is a great read, especially for kids interested in music, mystery, magic during the holiday season, and the beauty of winter."

Cheers!

DOGGIE DAY CAMP Earns Praise

Praise for “Doggie Day Camp”

Teachers agree: Bubba the dog helps primary grade students learn English grammar.
“Adorable story and illustrations,” said one experienced teacher, and so it is. But shy Bubba —who looks a lot like a schnoodle—also conveys information to beginning readers.
As part of author Cynthia Reeg’s Pet Grammar Parade Series, he discovers verbs and adverbs at doggie day camp, as well as new friends and activities.
Children who have recently started school and often attend day camps during the summer should have no trouble identifying with Bubba, and primary teachers will welcome a warm and funny way to begin study of grammar.

Editor, HeartLand Boating, and children’s writer

DOGGIE DAY CAMP

I am very happy to announce that DOGGIE DAY CAMP: VERB AND ADVERB ADVENTURES is now available from Guardian Angel Publishing. The picture book and grammar skills aid is already receiving two paws up from reviewers:

Doggie Day Camp: Verb and Adverb Adventures is a delightful read. Kit Grady’s illustrations provide perfect visuals for the adventures of a pup named Bubba. However, author Cynthia Reeg has nudged the reader to another level—one of learning! This author and illustrator have teamed up to present an abstract lesson in a concrete AND entertaining format. The activities at the end are the icing on the cake. This book, along with Kitty Kerplunking:Preposition Fun (also by Reeg), would be a welcome introduction to a unit on parts of speech for any classroom teacher, tutor, or home school instructor. It would also captivate any child’s attention simply as a fun read! --Jan Norton; Special Education Teacher; Seckman Elementary; Arnold, MO

In Doggie Day Camp: Verb and Adverb Adventures, author Cynthia Reeg entertains children with the story of Bubba the dog and successfully introduces verbs and adverbs to young readers. Children will connect with the delightful, yet, easy to read story of a shy dog left at day camp for the very first time. As readers follow Bubba through "tugging games" and "tasty treats," Reeg identifies verbs and adverbs in red and blue print. She follows this k-9 tale with a useful study guide and activities using verbs and adverbs. Doggie Day Camp: Verb and Adverb Adventures is not only an entertaining story, but also an excellent resource to introduce grammar concepts to young readers and reinforce the use of verbs and adverbs to older readers. I'm looking forward to more books in Cynthia Reeg's grammar series.-- Kelly Secrease; 6th Grade Language Arts; Nettleton Intermediate Center; Jonesboro, Ar.

KITTY KERPLUNKING: PREPOSITION FUN was the first book in the Pet Grammar Parade series. Look for more parts of speech books coming soon from Guardian Angel Publishing: HAMSTER HOLIDAYS: NOUN AND ADJECTIVE ADVENTURES and BUNNY BUSINESS: CONJUNCTION AND ARTICLE ADVENTURES

The Inspiration of a Family

The GAP authors, illustrators and editors are more than co-workers. They're like a family looking out for each other. Everyday my inbox is loaded with emails of members congratulating each other, supporting each other, bouncing ideas off each other. The best, though is when they team up together for the overall success of Guardian Angel Publishing.

Kevin Scott Collier had landed a super advertising opportunity for GAP. This is just one example of the way the GAP family comes together and supports each other. I'm honored to be a fellow author. If I'm ever in need of a little inspiration, I know where to look - GAP.

Great job Kevin and GAP. The teamwork exemplified through all of you is inspiring.

Latest Review of CRASH! by Mayra Calvani

"Five-year-old Marcelo receives a puppy on his birthday. It was golden in color and had chocolate-brown eyes. A Golden Retriever! Marcelo wanted a puppy more than anything else in the world, so he was quite happy with his new puppy. It's a boy puppy, but Marcelo had to think up a special name for his special puppy.Marcelo took good care of his puppy and kept him clean, well fed, and well exercised. Naming a puppy was a big undertaking, and Marcelo wanted to make sure he had the best name. Mom and Dad gave many names to Marcelo to consider, but he just wasn't happy with any of them. You'll just have to read this adorable book to see what the puppy did and what the perfect name was that Marcelo gave to his puppy!

Author Mayra Calvani carefully chose every word in this book. It just flows perfect, and I really enjoyed the care Marcelo put into giving his puppy just the right name. I was astonished that the colorful, kid-friendly perfect illustrations by Anna Pylypchuk are the work of a sixteen-year-old girl! She is a native Ukrainian and I found her very detailed illustrations just as charming as Mayra's text. This is a fun read for your little ones, and the author will be donating 50% of her royalties from this book to ALMOST HEAVEN GOLDEN RETRIEVER RESCUE AND SANCTUARY, a non-profit organization."

Donna's Interview on BlogTalkRadio

I was interviewed on Book Bites for Kids. Host Suzanne Lieurance talks with authors about their books and writing for children.

Review of CRASH!, by Lea Schizas

"Anyone who is a parent with a child that has begged, hollered, and begged some more for a pet will enjoy Crash and Marcelo, the little boy who gets his wish. The glee and joy in his cute little face is described vividly by author Mayra Calvani.

Reading “Crash”, a child and a parent discover the responsibilities that come with owning a pet. Marcelo also discovers that naming his new family member is not as easy as he thought. Many ideas come to his head, none really fitting in with the cute Golden Retriever. The name he finally picks surprises his parents. But as you read, you realize this is the PERFECT name...

This is a great book to buy for your child, you know, the one who is begging and hollering and begging some more for a pet. It will teach and prepare them for the responsibilities surely to come when a pet finally comes gift-wrapped." --Lea Schizas, Muse Book Reviews
